My main research interests involve Bioinformatics, Computational Biology and Theoretical/Computational Biophysics for analyzing the sequence, structure and dynamics of biological macromolecules (proteins, nucleic acids, lipids etc), the functional role of genes and proteins, and the content of biomedical literature.
Specifically, my work has so far involved the development and use of methods based on sequence and structure analysis, Molecular Dynamics simulations, Biological Network Analysis, profile Hidden Markov Models, machine learning and biological text mining for the study of biological membranes and transmembrane proteins, protein aggregation and amyloid fibril formation, metagenomic DNA and protein sequences, and bioentity associations in biomedical literature.
